You’re not on tv! Episode one: Howth

Filed under: News, Vlog — January 28, 2006

Click to download 33MB Quicktime movie. Here's some nice scenery from Howth in Ireland.Welcome to the first episode of You’re not on tv! in which Sean and Louis go for an invigorating stroll around the cliffwalk on the Howth Peninsula and see some nice scenery and an historic surprise. You’re not on tv! is a hopefully episodic video log (vlog) of, well, who knows and is named in honor of Andy (the instigator) and Joey (the commentator). I hope to eventually make it available in an rss feed so it can be auto-downloaded right into your iTunes or what have you. I’ll also be trying to find ways to get the file sizes down — 33mb was the best I could do in three hours of experimenting with mpeg-4. So after all the ado, here at last is You’re not on tv! Episode one: Howth 33MB Quicktime file, 4:53 (four minutes, fifty-three seconds).

  1. Now that’s what I’m talking about! I knew if I complained about you putting up a cool site enough that you’d do something. ;)

That was a cool video. It picked up the going-for-a-hike quality well. The tooting noise on the train made me laugh; I think Kenny would find that really funny too. The train, the cliffs, and the cool looking brick walls made a pretty good setting for the excursion. The Sea and Cake song was a nice touch.

    Keep it comming!

  5. Quite a good production. Gettin’ better :) Yeah, the download was slow for my little 56K. You’ll find a way to make it smaller.

  8. Hey Louis,
Just saw your little production! Georgeous stuff. I still can’t believe I’ve been to Ireland twice and never made it up to Howth–ah well, there’ll be plenty of time for that next time. Can hardly wait! :-)
